How to get there

By car

Google maps will give you a detailed route, but on a clear run you can get from Sheffield to our house in around 3 hours.

By train

Train journeys from Sheffield are around 4.5 hours, depending on connections. You change at Manchester and then either Chester or Llandudno Junction.

Advance tickets can usually be purchased, but annoyingly, to see them, you often have to buy them in two parts: Sheffield to Manchester and then Manchester to Rhosneigr.

By the time you're on the island, the conductor should have been round to ask you where you want to get off (all the stops between Bangor and Holyhead are request stops!).

Once you're off the train, walk down the drive, and turn right along the road, under the bridge and keep following the road round and up to Llanfaelog. Our house is the first of the terrace on the left near the top of the hill.

The walk takes under 15 minutes. There's no pavement but the road isn't particularly busy, and unless the planes are flying, you'll easily hear cars coming!
