Rehoboth Terrace Holiday Cottage
Upstairs
We have four bedrooms. We have just had a new bathroom suite put in, and part of the single bedroom partitioned off to create a compact shower room with loo and basin. The new shower room is accessed from an extended landing, as we've moved the bedroom entrance forward, making it accessible to all, rather than an ensuite. New carpets have been fitted in the back master bedroom, new single bedroom and twin/superking bedroom. We also have a new banister, new doors upstairs, and new landing carpet!
We say we can sleep 7 + 2 because we have beds for 7 - two king-size beds, two zip & link single beds that can also be used as a superking, and a single bed. We also have 2 small, single-sized foam fold-out mattresses for the plus 2.
If you're happy to squeeze a couple of young kids extra in and have them sleep on the mattresses, so are we, but bear in mind the dining table seats 8. A small extra charge may be applied to groups of more than 7 humans - please ask. Depending on the time of year, we may need you to bring a couple of sleeping bags and towels for the extras.
All the duvets are "all season", so you can remove half if you're too hot. Please note we usually only make up beds for the number of people staying.
All the bedrooms have one power socket by the bed that includes 2 USB sockets, in addition to the charging sockets on some of the clock radios.

The Fourth Bedroom - back of house
This room has just become smaller to allow room for the new shower room. It's a bit of a trade-off. Do we have 4 double bedrooms but only one bathroom, or make the 4th a compact single and have an extra loo and shower room?
We're actually very pleased with the way it has turned out! The old bedroom was a bit of a dark corridor, and we had our own storage cupboards in it. The new one is lovely and bright, and the view is more prominent.
We've managed to move all our storage onto the newly formed landing, so that's loads better!
It now feels like it's in a wing of its own, with easy access to the shower room, so would be a perfect choice if you have a single adult coming on holiday with you and you want to give them a little privacy away from your kids ;-)
4th bedroom - singleA lot smaller than it used to be because of the new shower room, but still has room for a full-size (3ft) single bed. |

The Bathroom & New Shower Room
Now we've gone "all posh" with the new bathrooms, we've decided to have dispensers for handwash, hand lotion, hair & body wash, and conditioner - it may not be enough for your whole stay if there are a lot of you, but it means you don't have to rush to the shop on the first night if you've forgotten your own! We also provide a few toilet rolls in each room as a starter pack.
We haven't tried using both showers at the same time yet, but we imagine the pressure won't be enough seeing as neither are power showers. The main advantage is that we now have two loos, and big families will no longer need to draw up a bathroom rota ;-) Nor will anyone need to feel guilty if they want to hog the bath or shower for a long time!

Shower |
Our bathroom has a bath with an electric shower and a fantastic view - you can lie back (or perch on the little window seat) and watch birds coming and going from our nesting boxes, which you can see through the window.
If you're shy, you can draw the blinds, but there is nothing at the back of the house, so it's pretty private - we think the pilots are probably flying too fast, and concentrating too hard on landing, to be able to see in!
We're very pleased with our new shower room, despite the shower's odd resemblence to the Starship Enterprise... It has great pressure and feels amazing! We've only ever had electric showers over baths, so this is the height of luxury for us :-)
As there is a spotlight above the shower, the water droplets are illuminated as they fall - this makes no practical difference to how clean you will get..... but it's very beautiful!!
The shower cubicle door is sliding, so the opening is only about 450mm wide, which is a smaller gap than we envisaged, but the cubicle itself is a respectable 1000mm by 800mm. It has a grab rail (as does the bath), but the shower tray isn't flush with the floor, so you do need to step in and out.
